Founded in the heart of the Cotswolds, we exist for one reason: to help every child to feel happy and confident in their learning.
Our story
How it all began
I founded Cotswold Private Tutoring a year ago having seen first-hand how the right support at the right moment can transform a child's confidence and ability. My aim was to offer something different — deeply personal, expert tuition that treats every child as an individual.
What began as a small local practice has grown into a trusted name for families across the Cotswolds. Parents come to us when their child is lacking confidence, needs reassurance and support, or when they are preparing for the 11+ and want the very best preparation available.
We are proud to be a small, personal service — and we intend to stay that way. Every family we work with receives our full attention, and every child we teach is known, understood, and genuinely cared for.

At Cotswold Private Tutoring, we believe that the best learning happens when a child feels safe, seen, and genuinely engaged. Our sessions are structured and purposeful, but always warm and encouraging. We begin every new relationship with a careful assessment — not to label a child, but to understand them. From there, we build a bespoke programme that challenges them appropriately, fills gaps in their knowledge, and steadily builds the confidence that unlocks everything else.

Every child can thrive
We do not believe in fixed ability. With the right support, encouragement, and teaching, every child can make meaningful progress and develop a genuine love of learning.
Relationships matter
The bond between tutor and pupil is everything. We take time to understand each child's personality, learning style, and what makes them tick — before we ever open a textbook.
Parents are partners
We keep families closely involved, sharing regular updates and practical strategies so that progress continues between sessions as well as during them.
Quality over quantity
We deliberately keep our practice small so that every family receives the time, care, and attention they deserve. We will never take on more pupils than we can serve exceptionally well.
Where we work
We offer tuition across the Cotswolds and surrounding areas, including Cheltenham, Gloucester, Cirencester, Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold, Moreton-in-Marsh, and the surrounding villages. Sessions are available in person at a location convenient to you, or online via video call.
